Description: Postcard Kite: This kite is 33” tall and 47 ½” wide, making it an excellent platform for graphics. Great light to moderate wind kite and is very stable without a tail. This kite is very simple to assemble so we will have time in class for appliqué. Contact Bary if you have questions or needs regarding graphics and he will see what he can do to help.
If you would like to bring your own appliquéd sail, there will be a $10.00 discount off the cost of the kit and your un-hemmed sail should be 34” tall and 48 ½” wide.
Description: Poster Genki the Big Bear Way: Several years ago I saw a picture, I believe in Kiting magazine, of a high aspect-ratio rectangular kite that caught my eye because of the horizontal graphics platform. Not having any kind of plan and being way to anxious to wait until I could locate one, I started taking measurements and figuring out width to height relationships. Next it was time to try to see through the kite to guess how to frame it. The result is a kite that is 36” tall and 96” wide that is simple to put together and fly’s awesome in light to moderate winds. We can do appliqué in class as well.
If you would like to bring your own appliquéd sail, there will be a $20.00 discount off the cost of the kit and your un-hemmed sail should be 37” tall and 97” wide.
What to bring: Sewing machine, notions, straight edge, pencil, your own graphic design.
Experience level: Beginner and up for both kites
