Description: You will be making a 30” Hex kite with a fuzzy tail, although the focus of this class is to pass on the secrets and the art of appliqué as it was taught to myself and so many other people by Mr. Jose Sainz. This particular style of appliqué is known as sandwich appliqué and these techniques were developed by Randy Tom who passed them on to Jose, etc. I will do my best in this class to pass along the information as it was shared with me. I will bring some designs with straight lines and curves so you can practice both. You are welcome to bring your own design also, be sure to have straight and curved lines so you can learn each style of line. If you have a design in mind and are not sure, please ask me.
What to bring: Sewing machine, notions, straight edge, masking tape, your favorite appliqué scissors and a pencil.
Experience level: Beginner and up
